MSME (Udyam) Registration in Delhi

What Is Udyam (MSME) Registration?

Udyam Registration is the government’s official, paperless, self-declaration-based online registration system for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, replacing the earlier Udyog Aadhaar system. On successful registration, the enterprise receives a permanent Udyam Registration Number and a Udyam Registration Certificate that serves as proof of MSME status for banks, government departments, and buyers.

Current MSME Classification Limits

As per the revised classification effective from Financial Year 2025–26: a Micro enterprise is one with investment up to ₹2.5 crore and annual turnover up to ₹10 crore; a Small enterprise has investment up to ₹25 crore and turnover up to ₹100 crore; and a Medium enterprise has investment up to ₹125 crore and turnover up to ₹500 crore. Classification uses a composite criterion — the enterprise must satisfy both the investment and turnover limits for its category.

Documents Required

  • Aadhaar number of the proprietor/managing partner/karta/authorised signatory.
  • PAN and GSTIN of the enterprise (GST registration is mandatory for Udyam registration except for enterprises exempt from GST).
  • details of the business activity, investment in plant and machinery/equipment, and turnover, which are largely auto-fetched from Income Tax and GSTN databases.

Process & Timeline

  1. Verifying eligibility and confirming investment and turnover figures against the current classification slabs.
  2. Filing the self-declaration application on the Udyam Registration portal using Aadhaar OTP authentication.
  3. Cross-verification of PAN and GST-linked financial data by the system.
  4. Instant generation of the Udyam Registration Number, with the formal e-certificate typically issued within 1–2 working days.

Fees

Udyam Registration is entirely free of cost on the official government portal — there is no government fee for either fresh registration or updates; our fee covers only the professional service of preparing and filing the application correctly.

Why Justsetu LLP
